Pakistan’s scrap imports grow in Sep m-o-m

According to statistics from the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), Pakistan imported around 326,600 tons of scrap in September this year, rising by 7.15% compared to the previous month while dropping by 38% from the same month a year ago.
The month-on-month increase in scrap imports was due to strong demand from the domestic market, although the quotations of scrap imports were rising.
In the first three months of the fiscal year 2022, Pakistan’s scrap imports amounted to roughly 875,300 tons.
