Jindal Steel and Power Limited (JSPL), a steel and energy company in India, reported that its finished steel output totaled 1.93 million tons in the second quarter of the fiscal year 2011-22, increasing by 5% compared to the same period a year ago.
During the period, JSPL’s sales volume reached 2.13 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 10%.
In the April-September period, the cumulative steel output amounted to approximately 3.9 million tons, and sales volume totaled 3.74 million tons.
According to JSPL, one of the firm’s coking coal mines in Australia has been put into operation, and the first shipment was expected in November 2021. The launch will obviously reduce JSPL’s reliance upon coking coal.
