Brazil's scrap exports drop in Sep y-o-y

According to statistics from Brazil’s Ministry of the Economy, the country exported around 73,500 tons of ferrous scrap in September this year, hiking by 56.2% compared to the previous month while dropping by 24.5% from the same month a year ago.
Among them, the exports to India accounted for the largest proportion, totaling around 24,700 tons. Bangladesh ranked second with a volume of roughly 24,400 tons.
In the first nine months of this year, Brazil’s scrap exports amounted to roughly 346,200 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 44.3%.
In terms of imports, Brazil’s ferrous scrap import volume reached 3,100 tons in September, sliding by 4.3% year on year. The volume in the January-September period totaled approximately 206,400 tons, surging by 292.1% compared to the same period a year earlier.
