According to statistics, China’s rebar exports amounted to around 6.3 million tons in the first eight months of this year, hiking by 29.6% compared to the same period a year ago.

In August alone, the export volume of rebar reached approximately 460,000 tons, a month-on-month decrease of 9.8% and a year-on-year increase of 1.2%.

Due to the COVID-19 epidemic, the demand for long products from overseas markets was impacted, so most of China’s producers turned to focus on domestic sales.

Therefore, the production of China’s wire rods and angles/channels had a year-on-year decrease of 7.2% and 2.0%, respectively, reaching around 170,000 tons in both steel products.
