China’s National Development and Reform Commission and the National Food and Strategic Reserves Administration released a total of 270,000 tons of national reserves of copper, aluminum, and zinc in two batches on July 5 and 29, receiving positive responses from industries. The prices of copper, aluminum, and zinc are still at high levels currently, and some downstream enterprises’ are also facing difficulties in their operations. Therefore, China’s relevant authorities will continue to release national reserves of copper, aluminum, and zinc, aiming to well stabilize the supply and prices of bulk commodities. However, it was understood that the release of national reserves will be suspended once in August due to the COVID-19 epidemic.
