Brazil’s scrap exports drop in Jul m-o-m

According to statistics from the Brazil Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade (MDIC), Brazil’s scrap exports amounted to 41,600 tons in July, dropping by 1.1% compared to the previous month.
In the first seven months of this year, Brazil exported a total of around 225,800 tons of scrap, sliding by nearly 52% from the same period a year ago.
Among them, the exports to Bangladesh occupied the largest proportion of 39%, followed by India’s 24% and South Africa’s 10%.
In terms of imports, the volume reached 11,300 tons in July, a month-on-month increase of 19.7%.
