China’s aluminum scrap imports statistics in May & Jan-May

According to statistics from China Customs, China imported around 34,300 tons of aluminum scrap in May. Among them, around 17,100 tons were from East Asia, accounting for 49.7%; around 12,100 tons were from Southeast Asia, accounting for 35.32%; the remainder was mainly from North America and Europe.
In the first five months of this year, China’s aluminum scrap imports from Hong Kong totaled around 129,000 tons, accounting for 35.06%; followed by Malaysia’s 117,100 tons, accounting for 31.83%.
