US’ scrap exports rise in Mar m-o-m

According to statistics from the US International Trade Commission (USITC), the exports of US’ scrap amounted to around 1.61 million tons in March, hiking by 18.8% compared to the previous month and also rising by 14.4% from the same month a year ago.
Among them, the exports to Turkey accounted for the largest proportion, totaling roughly 462,000 tons, a month-on-month increase of 62.5% and a year-on-year hike of nearly 4%. Other export destinations included Mexico (around 331,000 tons), Taiwan (around 152,000 tons), Malaysia (around 115,000 tons), and Vietnam (around 89,000 tons).
During the period, the export value totaled approximately US$663 million, up by 4.8% month on month and 60.4% year on year.
