Indian steel giant JSW Steel announced that its crude steel production for the month of February 2021 was at 1.306 million tonnes. The average capacity utilisation was 93% during the month of February, 2021.
Flat Products - 9.27 million tonnes down by 6% YoY
Long Products – 3.40 million tonnes up by 10% YoY
JSW Steel while announcing the December quarter results said the crude steel production fell from 12.09 million tonnes for the 9 months of FY 20 to 10.89 million tonnes during the same period in F 21. JSW Steel had reported that crude steel production for the month of January 2021 was at 1.432 million tonnes. Therefore its crude steel production in 11 months of 2020-21 adds to 13.63 million tonnes
JSW Steel had reported crude steel production of 16.06 million tonnes in 2019-20 which marked a 4% YoY decline from 16.69 million tonnes in the previous fiscal year. The production for flat rolled products totalled 11.35 million tonnes in FY20, down 3% YoY while production for long rolled products tumbled 4% YoY to 3.72 million tonnes
