Brazil's steel consumption grows in Jan y-o-y

The latest statistics from the Brazil Steel Institute Aço Brasil showed that Brazil’s steel consumption in January was around 2.2 million tons, up by 25% from the same period last year. The domestic steel sales were roughly 1.9 million tons, up by nearly 25% from the same period last year.
In addition, the month’s crude steel output was 3 million tons, an increase of 10.8% from the same period last year. Among them, the output of flat products was 1.29 million tons, an increase of 5.6% year on year; long products output was 873,000 tons, an increase of 8.1% year on year.
Aço Brasil estimated that this year's steel consumption in Brazil will reach 22.45 million tons, an increase of 5.8% from last year; crude steel production will reach 33.04 million tons, an increase of 6.7% from last year.
