Ohio Steelmaker Announced Top Executive Changes

Ohio-based steelmaker TimkenSteel announced key changes to its top executive team.

According to company press release, Michael S. Williams has been named as its new president and CEO. He will be part of board of directors effective January 1st, 2021. Williams was most recently the CEO of Bayou Steel Group. Prior to joining that company, he served as the president of Outokumpu Americas subsidiary. In addition, he has also served in various roles at Pittsburgh-based integrated steelmaker U.S. Steel.

Meantime, the company’s interim CEO and president Terry L. Dunlap will act as an independent director of the company, by remaining a part of the board of directors effective next year. Also, Frank A. DiPiero will step down as executive vice president, general counsel and secretary of the company, effective Dec. 31st. Kristine C. Syrvalin, who currently serves as the assistant general counsel and vice president of ethics and compliance will replace DiPiero.

John P. Reilly, chairman of TimkenSteel’s board thanked Terry for his focus and strong leadership during a challenging time. He also thanked Frank for his many contributions in structuring the company at the spinoff in 2014. Further, he wished both of them well in their future endeavours.
