CIL Reports 7% YoY Growth in Coal Production in August

Coal India has registered a 7.1 per cent growth in coal output at 37.17 million tonnes in August 2020 compared to the year-ago period while coal off-take increased 9.3 per cent last month to 44.34 million tonnes as compared to the same period a year ago. CIL said "The growth slowdown is contained and going forward in the ensuing months of the fiscal, we endeavour to maintain our production and off-take tempo.” Mahanadi Coalfields Ltd clocked a robust 40.4 per cent growth while Bharat Coking Coal Ltd and South Eastern Coalfields recorded 10.4 per cent and 7.6 per cent growth, respectively.
