Daiki Kick-starts Construction of $36M Automotive Aluminum Plant

Daiki Aluminium Industry India Pvt. Ltd., a 100% subsidiary of the Japanese Daiki Aluminium Industry Co. Ltd., has broken grounds on new automotive aluminum alloy plant in South India. The foundation laying ceremony was attended by Takaaki Yamamoto, President, Daiki Aluminium; Zhao Rong, chairman, Delta Group of Industries, China; Ravindra Sannareddy, managing director, Sri City, and a host of senior managers of Daiki Group.

The plant will be constructed at an investment of approximately $36.1 million and is expected to become operational by early next year. The plant is located at a 20-acre plot in at Sri City, a smart integrated business city in the Domestic Tariff Zone (DTZ) in the state of Andhra Pradesh. It will have a capacity to produce 84,000 tonnes of aluminum alloy ingots per annum. The Daiki plant is expected to provide employment to nearly 600 people, out of which 80% will be reserved for women.

Takaaki Yamamoto noted that the plant would use latest technologies to uphold green principles in production. The pollution control mechanisms at the plant will be at par with those adopted at its parent plants in Japan. Apart from serving domestic requirement within the country, the company plans to export products from the plant to ASEAN and Japanese automobile companies.

Welcoming Daiki Group, Ravindra Sannareddy expressed the hope that the presence of one of the largest secondary aluminum production companies in Sri City will help save mineral resources in the country.
