Brazilian miner Vale SA has announced that it had to temporarily halt operations at the Viga concentration plant of its newly-acquired Ferrous Resources do Brasil due to “inconsistency in the documents.”
The company said the suspension at the plant, which will impact some 330,000 tonnes of iron ore a month, does not affect the Viga mine and the operation permit issue bears no relation to the safety of the tailings dam.
